Mayor Drew Dilkens had the pleasure, along with City Councillors and members of the International Relations committee, of welcoming delegates representing our twin city Fujisawa, Japan. The 30th anniversary of the Sister City relationships with the City of Fujisawa was celebrated with a tree dedication ceremony in Jackson Park. The City is thankful to Mayor Tsuneo Suzuki for gifting the city with a Cherry Blossom tree which represents the unofficial national flower of Japan.

Thirty years ago the City of Windsor and the City of Fujisawa entered into a Sister City relationship. Since 1987 there have been many exchanges and programs over the years that have strengthened the special relationship between Windsor and Fujisawa.
