Each year, I look forward to recognizing Windsor centenarians – residents aged 100 years or older – who are part of a generation that helped define our community and are living links to the rich and varied history of our city.

To continue capturing and sharing these important community stories safely during the pandemic, I am once again asking residents to step forward to share the stories of their lives.

Residents who will be celebrating their milestone 100th birthday or higher in 2021 are asked to reach out to my office. I will connect virtually or by phone with some of these incredible people to thank them for being part of Windsor’s story.

Over 100 years, these residents would have witnessed first-hand the growth of the city, the rise of the auto industry and much, much more. They have lived through wars, prohibition and the opening of both the Ambassador Bridge and the Windsor-Detroit Tunnel. They have stories to tell. They are important contributors to what Windsor is today, and recognizing their milestone birthday is a privilege.

So please contact the Mayor’s Office by email at mayoro@citywindsor.ca or by phone at 519-255-6315. I look forward to hearing from you.
