WINDSOR CENTENARIANS – CELEBRATING YOUR STORY

Each year, Mayor Drew Dilkens recognizes Windsor centenarians – residents aged 100 years or older – who are part of a generation that helped define our community and are living links to the rich and varied history of our city.

“It is an honour for me to meet these folks,” Mayor Dilkens said. “For me, it is exciting and fascinating to hear about the history of our city and what things were like here when they were young. They are important contributors to what Windsor is today. Recognizing their milestone birthday is a privilege.”

To continue capturing and sharing these important community stories, the City of Windsor, through the Office of the Mayor, is once again asking residents to step forward to share the stories of their lives. Over 100 years, these residents would have witnessed first-hand the growth of the city, the rise of the auto industry and much, much more. They have lived through wars, prohibition and the opening of both the Ambassador Bridge and the Windsor-Detroit Tunnel. They have stories to tell.

Residents who will be celebrating their milestone 100th birthday or higher in 2020 are asked to reach out to the Mayor’s Office. Mayor Dilkens will visit with some of these incredible people to thank them for being part of Windsor’s story.

Please contact the Mayor’s Office by email at mayoro@citywindsor.ca or by phone at 519-255-6315.
We look forward to hearing from you.
