I am pleased to announce that the City of Windsor has been awarded $3 million toward the reconstruction of Huron Church Road thanks to another generous grant from the province.

Ontario Minister of Transportation Caroline Mulroney announced the new funding in a letter received by my office July 22, 2019.

I would like to thank Minister Mulroney for her continued support of Windsor. The investment will go a long way toward improving our roads, which are critical in connecting and facilitating crossings at Canada’s busiest border, Windsor-Detroit.

The funding is disbursed through the ministry’s 2019-2020 Connecting Links Program and will cover most of the $5,816,058 cost of the reconstruction of Huron Church Road from Malden Road to Pool Avenue. This is a section of the road that receives a high volume of heavy commercial truck traffic and needs to be repaired.

Construction is expected to begin in the spring of 2020 and will take about three months to complete.
