Mayor Dilkens recently took a tour of the University of Windsor’s School of Creative Arts in the newly renovated Armouries Building downtown. The Armouries, built between 1900 and 1902 was originally a drill hall and regimental base. It recently underwent extensive renovations and now, along with the brand new Freedom Way building, houses the University’s music, visual arts, film, and architecture and design programs. In this edition of Mayor’s Minute, the Director of the School of Creative Arts Dr. Vincent Georgie gives the Mayor a tour highlighting the Armouries, some of the more unique aspects, and the historical features they were able to preserve.
