The “W” Time Capsule was created during the City’s Centennial Celebrations in 1992. Windsor’s Mayor at the time, Mike Hurst, left instruction for the capsule to be opened in 2017 as part of the City’s 125th anniversary of incorporation.
Mayor Dilkens, 1992 Centennial Coordinator Gisele Seguin, and members of the Centennial Committee were present for the opening of the capsule and viewing of the items capsulated 25 years ago. Over 100 items were stored in the capsule including a letter to the Mayor of 2017 from Mayor Hurst. At the end of 2017, 25 items will be added to the capsule for opening in 2042.
