Mayor Drew Dilkens took part in the unveiling and dedication ceremony of the Memorial Cup Remembrance Garden at the WFCU Centre. It was an honour to have our Windsor Veterans in attendance. Thank you to the young students who attended and sang our National Anthem and read poems in both French and English. The City of Windsor is a community that is proud of its military and our military heritage. We have long honoured those who have fought and those who fight today, for our freedom. The Memorial Cup Remembrance Garden allows us as one to say thank you and you will not be forgotten.

This garden joins two of our community passions. Our passion and respect for our veterans and our passion for hockey, specifically Windsor Spitfire hockey. The location of the garden at the entrance to the home of the Windsor Spitfires, and all others who use this facility, will afford thousands of people the opportunity to see the garden and reflect on what it stands for. Thank you again to everyone involved in this great dedication.
